    Although it's possible that there really were no non-empty cities, it's also possible that Google Analytics just isn't working.  However, the three specified cities in BTS would seem to indicate that Google Analytics is, in fact, working and that none of the other cities registered any activity.

I've been working on these webpages from a variety of locations for several months, and I had thought that none of this was showing up on Google Analytics.  Now I'm beginning to think that these un-logged-in sessions are showing up as being from Berkeley.  They're actually from about 25 miles outside of Berkeley, but maybe that's close enough for Google.  If that's what's happening, it eliminates most of the readership I thought I was getting.

Well, it's another 10th day, so here are the cities with non-empty sessions which lasted a total of at least one minute during the previous 30 days.  The format is number of sessions times the average duration per session in minutes and seconds.

I've decided that the only data in the Google Analytics that is really meaningful is the amount of time spent in non-empty sessions which lasted at least a total of one minute during the previous month.  So here are the non-empty sessions which lasted a total of at least one minute during the previous month.  The format is number of sessions times the average duration per session in minutes and seconds.  Note that the number after the full colon ":" is seconds and not a decimal (hundredth) of a minute.  I could have made the conversion but didn't think it was worth the time and trouble.

BTS:                 14                        <                 325             ,              284                      <            747
BwoF:              13                        <                 302             ,              214                      <            637
CotA:                11                        <                 349             ,              305                      <            834
SubC:               18                        <                 356             ,              325                      <            876
For prior matrices, please see:  Google Analytics Log .  There hasn't been a whole lot of change, but I'm pretty sure that the non-empty session count is inflated.  Most of the non-empty counts were suspiciously round numbers like 1:00, 5:00, 6:40 and 8:20.  There were only a very few that looked real.  I've listed them, below:
    BTS  - 6/14
        London: 8 x 0:11
        Chicago: 7 x 0:09
        Sao Paulo: 6 x 0:19
        San Jose:  4 x 1:08
        Athens: 2 x 1:03
        Thessaloniki:  1 x 1:23 (?)
    BwoF  - 5/13
        New York: 15 x 0:40
        Denver:  11 x 0:45
        Bejing: 6 x 1:40
        Chicago: 5 x 1:20
        Meridian Township: 3 x 1:40
            (Many of these look quite round.)
    CotA  - 4/11
        New York:  15 x 0:11
        Seoul:  13 x 0.09
        Houston: 12 x 0:53
        Alexandria:  9 x 0:07
SubC  - 3/18
        Chicago :  11 x 0:06
        Chuo:  6 x 1:47
        Bogota:  3 x 2:47
Key: A/B  =  not round / non-empty
         C x D = number of sessions x average session duration.

06-28-15
It's been another 10 days since I've summarized the Google Analytics reports.  Here's the new matrix:
websitenon-empty sessions < specified locations ,   unspecified locations < total sessions
BTS:                 16                        <                 383             ,              309                      <            865
BwoF:                5                        <                 277             ,              241                      <            618
CotA:                 2                        <                 323             ,              246                      <            711
SubC:                8                        <                 344             ,              314                      <            838
In all four websites, the number of non-empty sessions has dropped.  What's more, the durations of many of the non-empty sessions are suspiciously round numbers, such as 5:00 or 10:00.
06-18-15
It's been another 10 days since I've summarized the Google Analytics reports.  Here's the new matrix:
website:  non-empty sessions < specified locations ,   unspecified locations < total sessions
BTS:                 36                        <                 397             ,              494                      <         1,064
BwoF:              10                        <                 266             ,              310                      <            652
CotA:               10                        <                 302             ,              324                      <            738
SubC:              12                        <                 308             ,              315                      <            703
Most of the numbers have gone up, which I find gratifying but surprising.

06-08-15
It's been 10 days since I've summarized the Google Analytics reports.  Here's the new matrix:
website:  non-empty sessions < specified locations ,   unspecified locations < total sessions
BTS:                 31                        <                 302             ,              574                      <            979
BwoF:                9                        <                 196             ,              277                      <            516
CotA:               13                        <                 172             ,              286                      <            502
SubC:              12                        <                 208             ,              412                      <            670
The most important numbers are the "non-empty sessions".  Although BTS and BwoF have gone down, CotA and SubC have gone up, so there's no clear trend.  I had expected all the numbers to drop since, measuring from the first surge in the numbers on 04-22-15, we are now past Google Analytic's 30-day window of consideration.

05-29-15
Google Analytics reports:
website:  non-empty sessions < specified locations ,   unspecified locations < total sessions
BTS:                41                       <                 266               ,              719                     <          1,081
BwoF:             28                       <                 140               ,              349                     <            516
CotA:              10                        <                158               ,              452                      <           705
SubC:               9                         <               112                ,              463                      <           597
    Summary:  Everything but SubC fell.
05-27-15
As anticipated, the Google Analytics numbers for BTS, BwoF and CotA have all dropped somewhat.  Unexpectedly, Google Analytics now reports a single non-empty SubC session from a specified location.  The session was from Cesena, a small city in Italy and is claimed to have lasted 5:00 minutes.
    I've enlarged the data matrix.  It is now:
website:  non-empty sessions < specified locations    unspecified locations < total sessions
BTS:     63<272, 741<1,112
BwoF:  44<151, 368<558
CotA:   33<167, 460<729
SubC:   1<48, 423<482

05-24-15
Up until 04-22-15, the only website for which Google Analytics reported non-empty sessions was BTS.  On 04-22-15 it began reporting non-empty sessions for  CotA, and on 04-23-15 it began reporting non-empty sessions for BwoF.  If I understand correctly, the numbers Google Analytics reports are for the previous 30 days, so the numbers reported for 05-16-15 should have begun dropping.  The current numbers are now:
    BTS = 66
    BwoF = 63
    CotA = 37
    SubC = 0
so the numbers have already begun to fall.

05-16-15
It's been 7 days since I last reported the numbers from Google Analytics.  There has been very little change.
BTS = 74
BwoF = 66
CotA = 38
SubC = 0

05-09-15
It's been 8 days since I last reported the numbers from Google Analytics.
BTS = 70  BwoF = 63
CotA = 33
SubC = 0 = no change.

05-06-15
    It's now been 5 days since Google Analytics started reporting session statistics for Subcortical Brain (SubC) .  The results show a weakness in their methodology.  Although they report a total of 130 sessions, only 9 of these are from known locations.  The other 121 are from "non set", which are shown on the map as being in the vicinity of Lagos, Nigeria.  The average session duration for these 121 reported sessions is said to be 00:48 (0.80) minutes and the average number of pages read per session is claimed to be 1.53.  I don't believe these numbers.  My guess is that someone in the vicinity of Lagos has a computer which is programed to access the webpage more than 20 times a day and remain connected for slightly less than a minute each time.  Most likely the reported sessions do not include a human being.
   An added complexity is that the huge increase in readership beginning on 4-24-15 is probably from my friend's forest defense blog.  While I fully support environmental defense, it's unlikely that many of the forest defenders who read his blog are interested in the neuroanatomy and endocrinology of human psychology.  So very few of them will take another look at my web pages, and the number of session views will drop suddenly about 30 days after my friend posted my URLs to his blog.

05-03-15
I think I've figured out the sudden surge in readership.  I have a friend who has more than a thousand followers to his forest defense blog, and I think he's forwarded the URLs for my websites to his readership.  Thanks Recon!

05-01-15
Google Analytics has begun to report session statistics for   Subcortical Brain (SubC) .  It reports 20 sessions, but only of them is from a known location.  It is Samara, a Russian city on the Volga.  Unfortunately, the session from Samara is empty; that is, it lasted only 00:00:00 minutes.  The other 19 sessions had an average duration of 1:01 minutes, but they appear  to have been from a single, unnamed location on the coast of West Africa, near Lagos, Nigeria perhaps.
The updated session array is now:
    CotA non-empty specified locations = 38.  The 86 non-empty sessions at non-specified locations were included as just a single session.  Almost all session durations were between one and two minutes.
    BTS non-empty specified locations = 72.  The 135 non-empty sessions at non-specified locations were included as just a single session.  Almost all session durations were between one and two minutes.
    BwoF non-empty specified locations = 67.  The 86 non-empty sessions at non-specified locations were included as just a single session.  Almost all session durations were between one and two minutes.
    SubC non-empty specified locations = 0.  There were 19 non-empty sessions at a non-specified location.

04-29-15
Google Analytics says:
    CotA non-empty specified locations = 38.  The 55 non-empty sessions at non-specified locations were included as just a single session.  Almost all session durations were between one and two minutes.
    BTS non-empty specified locations = 70.  The 125 non-empty sessions at non-specified locations were included as just a single session.  Almost all session durations were between one and two minutes.
    BwoF non-empty specified locations = 59.  The 70 non-empty sessions at non-specified locations were included as just a single session.  Almost all session durations were between one and two minutes.

04-26-15
My curiosity got the best of me, but I didn't want to spend all the time it takes to specify the locations and their durations.  So I just counted them.

    CotA non-empty locations = 15, most of them just over one minute.      BTS non-empty locations = 25, most of them just over one minute.
    BwoF non-empty locations = 30, most of them just over one minute.
04-24-15
Google Analytics shows only minor changes in BTS and CotA but major changes in BwoF.
BTS changes
    non-set = 29 x 0:13 = 3:77 (4.28)
CotA changes
    non-set = 43 x 0:05 = 2:15 (2.25)
    Bejing = 3 x 0:24 = 0:72 (1.20)
BwoF totals
    non-set = 61 x 0:16 = 9:76 (10.27)
    Cascavel = 1:57 (1.95)
    Boston = 1:50 (1.83)
    Wuppertal = 1:51 (1.85)
    Linz = 1:51 (1.85)
    Luoyang = 1:42 (1.70)
    Grand Rapids = 1:36 (1.60)
    Wekiva Springs = 1:35 (1.58)
    Neenah = 1:29 (1.48)
    Valencia = 1:27 (1.45)
    Notre Dame = 1:26 (1.43)
    Boryeong-si = 1:19 (1.32)
    Miami Beach = 1:17 (1.28)
    Mexico City = 1:14 (1.23)
    Daejeon = 2 x 0:37 = 0:74 (1.23)
    Trenton = 1:13 (1.22)
    Sao Paulo = 1:11 (1.18)        Melborne = 1:10 (1.17)
    New York = 5 x 0.22 = 1:10 (1.17)
    Columbia = 1:07 (1.12)        Tiperary = 1:06 (1.10)
    Trumbull = 1:01 (1.02)
Although I'm very grateful for the huge increase in readership over the past couple of days, I'm beginning to worry that I'm spending too much time on Google Analytics and not enough time on moving the websites forward.  Therefore, I'm not going to add up the totals.  I think my time is better spent working on the websites.

04-23-15
Today marks another major change.  For the first time, Google Analytics reports a non-empty session in
Boys without Fathers  (BwoF).  These seven new BwoF locations recorded today, combined with the four new CotA and the seven new BTS locations recorded yesterday, clearly show that my websites have suddenly found a much wider audience.  It's noteworthy that, so far, there isn't any overlap among the locations for the three different websites.
BwoF non-empty sessions:
    not set = 59 x 0:07 = 4:13 (4.22)
    Linz = 1:51 (1.85)
    Luoyang = 1:42 (1.70)
    Wekiva Springs = 1:35 (1.58)        Boryeong-si = 1:19 (1.32)
    Columbia = 1:07 (1.12)
    Trumbull = 1:01 (1.02)
Adding these up yields 4.22 + 1.85 + 1.70 + 1.58 + 1.32 + 1.12 + 1.02 = 12.81 minutes total BwoF session durations over the past month.  There were also 118 empty sessions.
    Adding total CotA, BTS and CotA session durations yields a total of 5.77 + 12.81 + 24.66 = 43.24 session durations during the past month.
    I made a mistake yesterday.  I forgot to include the non-set (no location specified) in the CotA data.  I've gone back and corrected the error.
    There was no change in either the CotA or the BTS numbers from yesterday.

04-22-15
Today marks a major change.  Although Google Analytics has always reported data on three of my websites:
Brain of the Tiger Salamander (BTS), Children of the Amphioxus (CotA) and  Boys without Fathers  (BwoF),  this is the first time it has reported any non-empty sessions for a website other than BTS.  Today it reports four non-empty CotA non-empty sessions:
    non-set (location not specified) = 42 x 0:05 = 2:1 (2.00)
    Chicago = 1:45 (1.75)
    Cartagena = 1:33 (1.55)
    Dresden = 1:24 (1.40)
    Bejing = 3 x 0:24 = 0:64 (1.07) .
Adding these up yields 2.00 + 1.75 + 1.55 + 1.40 + 1.07 = 7.77  minutes total CotA session durations over the past month.
    It also reported 66 empty CotA sessions where an "empty" session is any session lasting less than a minute.  Most empty sessions are reported as lasting not even one second.
    There were also changes in BTS .  Seven session locations were added:
    non-set (location not specified) = 39 x 0:10 = 3:90 (4.50)
    Kitchener = 1:50 (1.83)
    Os = 1:47 (1.78)
    Coushatta = 1:28 (1.47)
    Denver = 1:19 (1.32)
    Luneburg = 1:10 (1.17)
    Istanbul = 1:02 (1.03)
and one was dropped.
    Kingman = 2.08
So the complete list of 12 non-empty BTS session locations as of today is:
    Mytishchi  = 6.48
    non-set  = 4.50
    Kitchener = 1.83
    Os = 1.78
    Troy = 1.60
    Coushatta = 1.47       Overland Park = 1.35
    Denver = 1.32
    Luneburg = 1.17       Sao Paulo = 1.13
    Istanbul = 1.03
    Providence = 1.00.
Adding these up yields 6.48 + 4.50 + 1.83 + 1.78 + 1.60 + 1.47 + 1.35 + 1.32 + 1.17 + 1.13 + 1.03 + 1.00 = 24.66 minutes total BTS session durations over the past month.
    Adding total CotA session durations to total BTS session durations yields 7.77 + 24.66 = 32.43 session durations during the past month.

04-21-15
Google Analytics reports short, non-empty sessions from three new locations:
    Troy = 1:36 (1.60) minutes
    Overland Park = 1:21 (1.35) minutes
    Sao Paulo = 2 x 00:34 = 00:68 (1.13) minutes
So the six non-empty locations are now:
    Mytishchi  = 6.48
    Kingman = 2.08.
    Troy = 1.60
    Overland Park = 1.35
    Sao Paulo = 1.13
    Providence = 1.00.
Adding these up yields 6.48 + 2.08 + 1.60 + 1.35 + 1.13 + 1.00 = 13.64  minutes total session durations over the past month.

04-20-15
The 19.5 minutes of San Francisco non-empty session occurred on 03-20-15.  There has been almost no activity at that location since then, and today their total minutes for the past month dropped to 00:03 (0.05) minutes.
So the three non-empty locations are now:
    Mytishchi  = 6.48
    Kingman = 2.08.
    Providence = 1.00.
Adding these up yields 6.48 + 2.08 + 1.00 = 9.56  minutes total session durations over the past month.

04-18-15
Google Analytics reports a new, non-empty session.  Providence just barely qualifies with a single session lasting 1:01 (1.00) minutes.  So the four non-empty locations are now:
    San Francisco = 19.74
    Mytishchi  = 6.48
    Kingman = 2.08.
    Providence = 1.00.
Adding these up yields 19.74 + 6.48 + 2.08 + 1.00 = 29.30  minutes total session durations over the past month.

04-13-15
Google Analytics reports the same numbers as yesterday.  This will be the last time I provide Google Analytics numbers on a daily basis.  From now on I'll only post a notice for changes.

04-12-15
Google Analytics reports the same numbers as yesterday.

04-11-15
Google Analytics has stopped reporting any numbers for Hong Kong.  This indicates that they did not have any additional sessions after their initial session on 03-11-15.  There were no changes in the other locations.  So the three remaining non-empty locations are now:
    San Francisco = 19.74
    Mytishchi  = 6.48
    Kingman = 2.08.
Adding these up yields 19.74 + 6.48 + 2.08 = 28.30  minutes total session durations over the past month.
04-10-15
Google Analytics reports the same numbers since 04-04-15.

04-09-15
Google Analytics reports the same numbers since 04-04-15.

04-08-15
Google Analytics reports the same numbers since 04-04-15.

04-07-15
Google Analytics reports the same numbers since 04-04-15.

04-06-15
Google Analytics reports the same numbers as yesterday and the day before.

04-05-15
Google Analytics reports the same numbers as yesterday.

04-04-15
I made a mistake yesterday.  I was so preoccupied with Berkeley dropping out that I forgot to include
Mytishchi  in the summary of non-empty sessions.  None of the other numbers have changed, so the four non-empty sessions during the past month are now:
    San Francisco = 19.74
    Mytishchi  = 6.48
    Hong Kong = 2.73
    Kingman = 2.08.
Adding these up yields 19.74 + 6.48 + 2.73 + 2.08 = 31.03 minutes total session durations over the past month.

04-03-15
A major change.  Google Analytics reports that the number of sessions from Berkeley has dropped from 3 to 1 and the average session duration (the one session left) has dropped from 10:28 (10.47) to 00:29 (0.48).  Since I count any session duration less than one minute, 1:00 (1.0), as empty, Berkeley is now among the 94 empty sessions recorded in the past month.  The non-empty session numbers from the other locations haven't changed, so the four non-empty sessions during the past month are now:
    San Francisco = 19.74
    Mytishchi  = 6.48
    Hong Kong = 2.73
    Kingman = 2.08.
Adding these up yields 19.74 + 6.48 + 2.73 + 2.08 = 31.03 minutes total session durations over the past month.

04-02-15
Google Analytics reports the same numbers as yesterday, the day before and the day before that.

04-01-15
Google Analytics reports the same numbers as yesterday and the day before.

03-31-15
Google Analytics reports the same numbers as yesterday.

03-30-15
Google Analytics reports a new location.  There was one session from Mytishchi  which lasted 6:29 (6.48) , minutes.  All the other numbers remained the same.  So the five non-empty locations are now:
    Berkeley = 31.4
    San Francisco = 19.74
    Mytishchi  = 6.48         Hong Kong = 2.73
    Kingman = 2.08.
Adding these up yields 31.4 + 19.74 + 6.48 + 2.73 + 2.08 = 62.43 minutes total session durations over the past month.

03-29-15
Google Analytics has dropped Harlingen.  They apparently never came back after their initial session on 02-26-15.
So the four non-empty locations are now:
    Berkeley = 31.4
    San Francisco = 19.74        Hong Kong = 2.73
    Kingman = 2.08.
Adding these up yields 31.4 + 19.74 + 2.73 + 2.08 = 55.95 minutes total session durations over the past month.

03-28-15
Google Analytics reports that the number of San Francisco visits has risen from 6 to 7 and that the average duration of these sessions has fallen from 3:15 (3.25) to 2:49 (2.82).  This multiplies out to 7 x 2.82 = 19.74, which is slightly above the 19.5 reported over the past couple of days and indicates another non-empty session of 0.24 minutes (14.4 sec).  All the other numbers remain the same.
03-27-15
Google Analytics reports the same numbers today as yesterday.

03-26-15
No change from yesterday in the non-empty sessions.  By non-empty sessions I mean locations having total sessions lasting at least a minute.  Many of the empty sessions have durations of zero, (00:00:00)  All of the non-empty sessions so far have been with Brain of the Tiger Salamander , but that same site has also had 110 empty sessions within the past month, Boys without Fathers has had 154 empty sessions and Children of the Amphioxus  has had 74.
03-25-15
Google Analytics reports that Stuttgart has dropped out entirely.  They evidently never followed up on their initial visit on 02-21-15.  Berkeley has dropped from 4 sessions to 3 while the average session duration has risen from 7.85 to 10:28 (10.47).  This multiplies out to 3 x 10.47 = 31.41 total minutes duration during the past month which is identical or very close to the value reported the previous few days.  This indicates that the dropped session was empty.  All of the other session values have remained the same.

03-24-15
Google Analytics reports that the number of non-empty sessions from Berkeley has dropped from 5 to 4 while the average session duration has risen to 7:51 (7.85).  This multiplies out to 4 x 7.85 = 31.4 total minutes duration during the past month.  This is identical to the number reported yesterday and very close to the 31.38 minutes reported for the previous few days.  The most likely explanation is that the dropped session was empty.  Google Analytics also reports that the number of San Francisco visits has risen from four to six with an average session duration of 3:15 (3.25).  This multiplies out to 6 x 3.25 = 19.5 total minutes duration during the past month, which is virtually identical to the number reported yesterday and indicates that the two added sessions were probably empty.  So all the apparent changes seem to have been empty sessions, and the totals remain unchanged.

03-23-15
Google Analytics reports that the number of non-empty sessions from Berkeley has dropped from 6 to 5 while the average session duration has risen from 5:14 (5.23) to 6:17 (6.28).  This multiplies out to 5 x 6.28 = 31.4 total minutes duration during the past month.  This is very close to the 31.38 minutes reported for the past few days and may be a random calculation error rather than a real change.  Another possible calculation error is that Google is now reporting the duration of the single visit from Stuttgart as be 29.00 rather than 29.8.  All the other numbers remained the same.  So the six non-empty locations are now:
    Berkeley = 31.4
    Stuttgart = 29.0
    San Francisco = 19.52        Harlingen = 4.27
    Hong Kong = 2.73
    Kingman = 2.08.
Adding these up yields 31.4 + 29.0 + 19.52 + 4.27 + 2.73 + 2.08 = 89.0 minutes total session durations over the past month which is very little change from the 89.78 reported yesterday.
03-22-15
We had a non-empty session from another new location.  Google Analytics reports a single visit from Kingman lasting 2:05 (2.08) minutes.  Google Analytics also reports that the number of San Francisco visits has risen from three to four with an average session duration of 4:53 (4.88) for a total of 4 x 4.88 = 19.52 minutes during the past month.  This is almost identical to the 19.5 minutes reported on 03-20-15.  All the other numbers remained the same.  So the six non-empty locations are now:
    Berkeley = 31.38
    Stuttgart = 29.8
    San Francisco = 19.52        Harlingen = 4.27
    Hong Kong = 2.73
    Kingman = 2.08.
Adding these up yields 31.38 + 29.8 + 19.52 + 4.27 + 2.73 + 2.08 = 89.78 minutes total session durations over the past month.  This also corrects a small transcription error in the Hong Kong minutes.
03-21-15
Google Analytics reports the same numbers today as yesterday.

03-20-15
We have a new location!  Google Analytics reports three sessions from San Francisco with average duration of 6:30 (6.5) minutes.  This multiplies out to 3 x 6.5 = 19.5 minutes.  So the five non-empty locations are now:
    Berkeley = 31.38
    Stuttgart = 29.8
    San Francisco = 19.5        Harlingen = 4.27
    Hong Kong = 2.74 .
Adding these up yields 31.38 + 29.8 + 19.5 + 4.27 + 2.44 = 87.39 minutes total session durations over the past month.

03-19-15
Google Analytics reports that the number of visits from Berkeley in the past month has dropped from 8 down to 6 with an average session duration during the past month of 5:14 (5.23).  This multiplies out to 6 x 5.23 = 31.38
minutes total session duration during the past month.  This is a decrease of 33.44 - 31.38 = 2.06 minutes.  The four locations with non-empty sessions are now:
      Berkeley = 31.38
      Stuttgart = 29.8
      Harlingen = 4.27
      Hong Kong = 2.74 .
Adding these up yields 31.38 + 29.8 + 4.27 + 2.44 = 67.89 minutes total session durations over the past month.
    It might be worth noting that there has been contact from 43 other cities which I have not reported because the total session duration from each of those cities was less than one minute.

03-18-15
Google Analytics reports that the number of visits from Berkeley in the past month has dropped from 9 back down to 8 and the average session duration during the past month has risen from 3.72 to 4.18 minutes.  This multiplies out to 8 x 4.18 = 33.44 minutes total session duration during the past month which is almost identical to the 33.48 minutes reported before the change, suggesting that the dropped visit was almost empty.
03-17-15
Google Analytics does not show any changes since yesterday.

03-16-15
Google Analytics shows that there was a new visit from Berkeley, raising their total over the past month from 8 to 9 accompanied by a drop in their average session duration during the past month from 4.08 to 3.72.  This multiplies out to 9 x 3.72 = 33.48 minutes total session time over the past month, a increase of 33.48 - 33.04 = 0.44 minutes, which I think is probably the length of the new visit.  None of the other numbers have changed, so the four locations with non-empty sessions are now:
      Berkeley = 33.48
      Stuttgart = 29.8
      Harlingen = 4.27
      Hong Kong = 2.74 .
Adding these up yields 33.04 + 29.8 + 4.27 + 2.44 = 70.29 minutes total session durations over the past month.
03-15-15
Google Analytics reports no changes from yesterday or the day before.

03-14-15
Google Analytics reports no changes from yesterday.

03-13-15
It's Friday the 13th again.  To mark the occasion, New Delhi has dropped from consideration.  Google Analytics first reported their non-empty visit on 02-12-15, and it's now been a month with no further activity.  So now they're gone.  The other non-empty counts have remained the same, so the four remaining locations with non-empty sessions are now:
      Berkeley = 33.04
      Stuttgart = 29.8
      Harlingen = 4.27
      Hong Kong = 2.74 .
    Adding these up yields 33.04 + 29.8 + 4.27 + 2.44 = 69.85 minutes total session durations
03-12-15
Google Analytics reports the same numbers as yesterday.

03-11-15
There were two changes in the Google Analytics numbers from 03-10-15.
  1.  Berkeley dropped down from 9 to 8 non-empty sessions in the past month with a sharp decrease in the average session duration from 6:07 (6.12) to 4:08 (4.13).  This multiplies out to 8 x 4.13 = 33.04 This is a drop of 55.08 - 33.04 = 22.04 minutes total session duration with Berkeley during the past month and implies that the dropped session must have been 22.04 minutes long.
  2.  There were two new visits from Hong Kong with an average of 1.37 minutes per visit for a total of 2.74 minutes.  Although this isn't nearly enough to counterbalance the Berkeley dropped visit, it's always nice to have new visitors.
   The five locations with non-empty sessions are now:
      Berkeley = 33.04
      New Delhi = 3.54
      Stuttgart = 29.8
      Harlingen = 4.27
      Hong Kong = 2.74 .
    Adding these up yields 33.04 + 3.54 + 29.8 + 4.27 + 2.74 = 73.39 minutes total session durations during the past month.
03-10-15
There was no change in the Google Analytics numbers from yesterday, the day before, or the day before that.

03-09-15
There was no change in the Google Analytics numbers from yesterday or the day before.

03-08-15
There was no change in the Google Analytics numbers from yesterday.

03-07-15
Berkeley has dropped down from 10 to 9 non-empty sessions in the past month with a decrease in the average session duration from 7:59 (7.98) to 6:07 (6.12).  This multiplies out to 9 x 6.12 = 55.08 minutes total session duration during the past month.  This is a decrease of 79.8 (yesterday) - 55.08 (today) = 24.72 minutes total session duration during the past month and implies that the dropped session was 24.72 minutes long.  There was no change in the New Delhi, Stuttgart or Harlingen numbers from yesterday.

03-06-15
    Berkeley has dropped back down from 11 to 10 non-empty sessions in the past month with a decrease in the average session duration from 8:48 (8.80) to 7:59 (7.98).  This multiplies out to 10 x 7.98 = 79.8 minutes total session duration during the past month.  This is a decrease of 96.8 (yesterday) - 79.8 (today) = 17.0 minutes total session duration during the past month and implies that the dropped session was 17.0 minutes long.
    New Delhi has dropped back from 4 non-empty sessions to 3 but with an increase of average session duration from  00:53 (0.88) minutes to 1:11 (1.18).  This multiplies out to 3 x 1.18 = 3.54  minutes total session duration during the past month compared with 3.52 minutes yesterday.  There were no changes in the Stuttgart and Harlingen numbers.
   Taking the numbers at face value, the four locations with non-empty sessions are now:
    Berkeley = 79.8
    New Delhi = 3.54
    Stuttgart = 29.8
    Harlingen = 4.27 .
Adding these up yields 79.8 + 3.54 + 29.8 + 4.27 = 117.41 minutes total session durations during the past month.     To put this into perspective, Google Analytics Log records that, for three days a month ago, from 02-08-15 through 02-10-15, there were 47 non-empty sessions with an average session duration of 11:38 (11.63) for a total of 546.6 session minutes over the previous month.  It's been down hill ever since.  The drop in the past month is 546.5 (a month ago) - 117.41 (today) = 429.09 minutes decline in total session duration during the past month.
03-05-15
Google Analytics shows no change in session counts from yesterday or the day before.

03-04-15
Google Analytics shows no change in session counts from yesterday.
03-03-15
Google Analytics shows a recovery in the number of Berkeley sessions in the past month from 10 back up to 11 and also a big increase in the average session duration from 6:35 (6.58) to 8:48 (8.80).  This multiplies out to 11 x 8.8 = 96.8 minutes total session duration during the past month.  This is an increase of 96.8 (today) - 65.8 (yesterday) = 31.0 minutes total session duration during the past month and implies that the added session was 31.0 minutes long.  That's a very long session.  There was no change in the New Delhi, Stuttgart or Harlingen numbers.
03-02-15
Google Analytics shows a drop in the number of Berkeley sessions in the past month, from 11 to 10, and a rise in the average session duration from 6:23 (6.38) to 6:35 (6.58).  This multiplies out to 10 x 6.58 = 65.8 minutes total session duration during the past month.  This is a drop of 70.18 (yesterday) - 65.8 = 6.0 minutes total session duration during the past month and implies that the dropped session was 6.0 minutes long.  There was no change in the New Delhi, Stuttgart or Harlingen numbers.

03-01-15
Google Analytics shows a very large drop in the number of Berkeley sessions in the past month, from 15 to 11, and a very modest rise in the average session duration from 6:10 (6.17) to 6:23 (6.38).  This multiplies out to 11 x 6.38 = 70.18 minutes total session duration during the past month.  This is a drop of 92.55 (yesterday) - 70.18 = 22.37 minutes total session duration during the past month and implies that the average dropped session was 22.37 / 4 = 5.59 minutes long.  There was no change in the New Delhi, Stuttgart or Harlingen numbers, so the four locations with non-empty sessions are now:
    Berkeley = 70.18
    New Delhi = 3.52
    Stuttgart = 29.8
    Harlingen = 4.27
Adding these up yields 70.18 + 3.52 + 29.8 + 4.27 = 107.77 minutes total session durations during the past month.

02-28-15
Google Analytics shows a drop in the number of Berkeley sessions in the past month, from 16 to 15, and an increase in average session duration from  6:03 (6.05) minutes to 6:10 (6.17).  This multiplies out to 15 x 6.17 = 92.55 minutes total session duration during the past month.  This is a drop of 96.8 (yesterday) - 92.55 = 4.25 minutes total session duration during the past month and implies that the dropped session was probably 4.25 minutes long.  There was no change in the New Delhi, Stuttgart or Harlingen numbers, so the four locations with non-empty sessions are now:
    Berkeley = 92.55
    New Delhi = 3.52
    Stuttgart = 29.8
    Harlingen = 4.27
Adding these up yields 92.55 + 3.52 + 29.8 + 4.27 = 130.14 minutes total session durations during the past month.
02-27-15
Google Analytics shows no change from yesterday.
02-26-15
Google Analytics reports a new location: Harlingen, TX
<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harlingen,_Texas> . One visit for 4:16 (4.27) minutes.  Neither Berkeley nor New Delhi nor Stuttgart showed any changes for the past three days.  The four locations with non-empty sessions are now:
    Berkeley = 96.8
    New Delhi = 3.52
    Stuttgart = 29.8     and now
    Harlingen = 4.27
Adding these up yields 96.8 + 3.52 + 29.8 + 4.27 = 134.39 minutes total session durations during the past month.
02-25-15
Google Analytics reports the same numbers as yesterday and the day before.
02-24-15
Google Analytics reports the same numbers as yesterday.

02-23-15
Google Analytics reports another drop in the number of Berkeley sessions in the past month, from 17 to 16, and an increase in average session duration from 5:36 (5.6) minutes to 6:03 (6.05).  This multiplies out to 16 x 6.05 = 96.8 minutes total session duration during the past month.  This is a drop of 99.96 (yesterday) - 96.8 = 3.16 minutes total session duration during the past month and implies that the dropped session was probably 3.16 minutes long.  There was no change in either the New Delhi or the Stuttgart numbers.

02-22-15
Google Analytics reports the same numbers today as yesterday.

02-21-15
New readers!  Google Analytics shows two new sessions from a new location, Stuttgart, with an average session duration of 14:54 (14.9) and, therefore, a total session duration of 29.8 minutes.
    Old readers: neither Berkeley nor New Delhi showed any changes.  Google Analytics says that Brain of the Tiger Salamander has been visited from 25 different locations during the past 30 days, but only three locations have total session durations of a minute or more.  I have labeled the other sessions, which totaled less than a minute each, as "empty" and not summarized them.  The three locations with non-empty sessions are:
    Berkeley = 99.96
    New Delhi = 3.52    and now
    Stuttgart = 29.8
Adding these up yields 99.96 + 3.52 + 29.8 = 133.28 minutes total session durations during the past month.

02-20-15
Google Analytics reports a small drop in Berkeley monthly readership today; from 18 to 17, partially compensated by a rise in average session from 5:36 (5.6) yesterday to 5:53  (5.88) today.  This multiplies out to 17 x 5.88 = 99.96 minutes total session duration during the past month, down from 100.8 yesterday for a drop of 100.8 - 99.96 = 0.84 minutes drop in total session duration during the past month.
    There was no change in the New Delhi numbers of four sessions with an average session duration of 00:53 (0.88) minutes adding up to 4 x 0.88 = 3.52  total session minutes for the past month.
02-19-15
Google Analytics reports another big drop in Berkeley monthly readership from 24 yesterday to only 18 today.  However, there was a compensating rise in average session duration from 4:40 (4.67) minutes yesterday to 5:36 (5.6) today.  This multiplies out to 18 x 5.6 = 100.8 minutes total session duration during the past month, down from 112.08 yesterday for a drop of 112.08 - 100.8 = 11.28 minutes total session duration during the past month.
    There was no change in the New Delhi numbers of four sessions with an average session duration of 00:53 (0.88) minutes adding up to 4 x 0.88 = 3.52  total session minutes for the past month.
02-18-15
Another drop, but small this time.  Google Analytics says that Berkeley monthly readership dropped to 24 from 25 yesterday with average session duration up very slightly to 4:40 (4.67) minutes.  Total session duration during the past month becomes 24 x 4.67 = 112.08 and the difference from yesterday becomes a decrease of 116.26 (yesterday) - 112.08 = 4.18 total session minutes for the past month.
    There was no change in the New Delhi numbers of four sessions with an average session duration of 00:53 (0.88) minutes adding up to 4 x 0.88 = 3.52  total session minutes for the past month.
02-17-15
Another big drop.  Berkeley monthly readership down to 25 from 33 yesterday but with average session duration steady at 4:39 (4.65) minutes both days.   Total session minutes over the last month becomes 25 x 4.65 = 116.25; a difference of 153.45 (yesterday) - 116.25 (today) = 37.2 decrease in total session minutes for the past month.
    There was no change in the New Delhi numbers of four sessions with an average session duration of 00:53 (0.88) minutes adding up to 4 x 0.88 = 3.52  total session minutes for the past month.
02-16-15
A small bounce which may signal the end of the sharp decline.  Google Analytics reports that Berkeley monthly readership rose slightly from 31 non-empty sessions yesterday to 33  today, and that the average session duration fell only a little from 4:53 (4.88) yesterday to 4:39 (4.65) today, resulting in a total of sessions minutes over the last month of 33 x 4.65 = 153.45, an increase of 153.45 (today) - 153.28 (yesterday) = 0.17 minutes, which, if I've calculated correctly, is the same amount it dropped yesterday.
    There was no change in the New Delhi numbers of four sessions with an average session duration of 00:53 (0.88) minutes adding up to 4 x 0.88 = 3.52 minutes.
02-15-15
Only a small drop today.  Google Analytics reports that Berkeley monthly readership remained steady at 31 non-empty sessions  today, and that the average session duration fell only a little from 4:57 (4.95) yesterday to 4:53 (4.88) today, resulting in a total of sessions minutes over the last month of 31 x 4.88 = 151.28, a drop of only 153.45 (yesterday) - 153.28 (today) = 0.17 minutes.
    There was no change in the New Delhi numbers of four sessions with an average session duration of 00:53 (0.88) minutes adding up to 4 x 0.88 = 3.52 minutes.
02-14-15
Another big drop.  Google Analytics reports that Berkeley monthly readership fell from 35 non-empty sessions yesterday to 31 today, and the average session duration of 8:36 (8.6) minutes yesterday fell to 4:57 (4.95) today, resulting in a calculated total of sessions minutes over the last month of 31 x 4.95 = 153.45, a drop of 301 (yesterday) - 153.45 (today) = 147.55 which would be an average of 147.55 / 4 = 36.89 minutes of session time for each of the 4 sessions which have now become more than a month old and are, therefore, no longer considered in the report.  All of these numbers are quite large, but I have no way of verifying or refuting them.
    There was no change in the New Delhi numbers of four sessions with an average session duration of 00:53 (0.88) minutes adding up to 4 x 0.88 = 3.52 minutes.

02-13-15
Friday the 13th lives up to its reputation.  Very sharp drop in Berkeley readership: from 40 non-empty sessions yesterday to only 35 today and from an average session duration of 13:08 (13.13) minutes yesterday to only 8:36 (8.6) today for a total of session minutes over the last month of 35 x 8.6 = 301 minutes today.  This is a drop of 525.2 (yesterday) - 301 (today) = 224.2 minutes.  This implies that the average session duration for each of the 5 non-empty sessions which dropped out of consideration was 224.2 / 5 = 44.84 minutes, which seems unlikely.
    I checked the  Google Analytics Log  , and it records correspondingly surprising data from just a month ago.  For 01-13-15, the log says:
    "... the average session duration for the non-empty sessions has increased from 6:28 for the 14 non-empty sessions on 01-11-15 to 14:05 for the 23 non-empty sessions today.  This is a huge increase from the approximately 14 x 6.5 = 91 minutes total non-empty time on 01-11-15 to approximately 23 x 14.0 = 322 minutes total non-empty time today, 01-13-15.  This implies that in just the past two days there has been approximately 230 minutes of non-empty time by my three apparently genuine readers.  That averages out to almost 77 minutes apiece in just two days."
    So it appears that whatever caused the huge jump a month ago has now slipped out of consideration because it has now been more than a month.
    There was no change in the New Delhi numbers of four sessions with an average session duration of 00:53 (0.88) minutes adding up to 4 x 0.88 = 3.52 minutes,
02-12-15
Another drop in non-empty sessions!  This probably reflects the elimination from consideration of sessions which are now more than a month old.  Although the number of non-empty sessions has dropped from 44 to 40, the average session duration has risen from 12:01 (12.0) yesterday to 13:08 (13.13) today for a total of session minutes over the last month of 40 x 13.13 = 525.2.  This is a very slight drop from the total of 528 calculated yesterday.
    Google Analytics actually reports more than just the number of sessions and the average session duration.  Among other things, it also specifies the city in which the session took place.  At the moment it reports 76 sessions from 23 cities for Brain of the Tiger Salamander, 40 sessions from one city for Boys without Fathers , four sessions from two cities for  Children of the Amphioxus and six sessions from one city for Subcortical Brain .  Most of these sessions had durations at or near 00:00:00, and I have considered them "empty"and not reported them.  Up until a day or so ago, all of the non-empty sessions have been for just one website,  Brain of the Tiger Salamander , and from just one city, Berkeley, California, USA.  Now, however, Google Analytics is reporting four sessions for Brain of the Tiger Salamander with an average session duration of 00:53 (0.88) minutes from New Delhi, India.  This adds up to 4 x 0.88 = 3.52 minutes, and I will begin reporting Berkeley and New Delhi separately.

02-11-15
Google Analytics reports new numbers today.  The number of non-empty sessions has dropped from 47 yesterday to 44 today and the average session duration has risen from 11:38 (11.63) yesterday to 12:01 (12.0) today.  The resulting total of session minutes over the last month is 44 x 12.0 = 528, which is a drop of 18.6 from the 546.6 reported yesterday and averages out to 6.2 minutes for each of the 3 dropped sessions.    This is the first drop in total session minutes that I can remember.

02-10-15
Google Analytics reports the same numbers as yesterday: 47 non-empty sessions with an
average session duration of 11:38 (11.63) for a total of 546.6 session minutes over the last month.

02-09-15
Google Analytics reports the same numbers as yesterday: 47 non-empty sessions with an
average session duration of 11:38 (11.63) for a total of 546.6 session minutes over the last month.
02-08-15
Google Analytics records one new non-empty session for 47 and a slight bump up in average session duration to 11:38 (11.63) for a total of 546.6 session minutes over the last month.  Subtracting 546.6 (today) - 524.4 (yesterday) = 22.2 minutes of session duration for the one new non-empty session.  That's quite a long visit.

02-07-15
Same Google Analytics as yesterday.  46 non-empty sessions and an average session duration of 11:24 (11.40) minutes working out to a total of 524.4 session minutes over the past month.

02-06-15
Same Google Analytics as yesterday.  46 non-empty sessions and an average session duration of 11:24 (11.40) minutes working out to a total of 524.4 session minutes over the past month.

02-05-15
Same Google Analytics as yesterday.  46 non-empty sessions and an average session duration of 11:24 (11.40) minutes working out to a total of 524.4 session minutes over the past month.
02-04-15
Google Analytics reports an increase from 45 to 46 non-empty sessions and an increase from 11.06 (11.10) to 11:24 (11.40) minutes in average session duration.  This works out to an increase in total session minutes over the past month from 497.7 to 524.4 and implies that the additional non-empty session lasted 26.7 minutes.

02-03-15
Google Analytics reports an increase from 44 to 45 non-empty sessions and an increase from 10:58 (10.97) to 11:06 (11.10) in average session duration.  This works out to an increase in total minutes per page the past month from 482.68 to 497.7 and implies that the additional non-empty session lasted 15.02 minutes.

02-02-15
Same Google Analytics numbers as yesterday:  44 non-empty sessions, 10:58 (10.97) average session duration, 482.68 total minutes of page views for past month.

02-01-15
Google Analytics reports one less non-empty session; a drop from 45 yesterday to 44 today.  However, the average session duration rose slightly from 10:44 (10.73) yesterday to 10:58 (10.97) today, so there's only a slight drop in total minutes of page view for the month from 482.85 to 482.68.

01-31-15
The Google Analytics numbers haven't changed since yesterday.    45 non-empty sessions with an average session duration of 10:44 (10.73) which gives 45 x 10.73 = 482.85 minutes of page view in the period 12-31-14 to 01-30-15.

01-30-15
Error Correction:
I made a mistake on yesterday's Google Analytics.  An average session duration of 10:52 minutes is not 10.5 minutes.  It's 10.87 minutes.  Therefore, the total minutes of page view rose to 44 x 10.87 = 478.28, not 462.00 and the average session increase was 478.28 - 453.20 = 25.08 / 4 = 6.27 minutes, not 2.20.
Today:
Google Analytics reported an increase in non-empty sessions from 44 yesterday to 45 today.  The average session duration dropped from 10:52 (10.87) minutes yesterday to 10:44 (10.73) today.  Since the total minutes of page view rose from 478.28 to 45 x 10.73 = 482.85, the average session increase was 482.85 - 478.28 = 4.57 / 1 = 4.57 minutes.

01-29-15
Google Analytics reported an increase in non-empty sessions from 40 yesterday to 44 today.  The average session duration dropped from 11:20 (11.34) minutes yesterday to 10:52 (10.5) today.  Since the total minutes of page view rose from 453.20 to 44 x 10.5 = 462.00, the average session increase was 462.00 - 453.20 = 8.80 / 4 = 2.20 minutes.

01-28-15
Google Analytics reports today what appear to be the same 40 non-empty sessions as yesterday.  However, the average session duration has moved up just a little, from 11:20 to 11:24.  My guess is that this indicates that whatever old session(s) were no longer within the one month period of consideration were replaced new session(s) which are just a little bit longer.

01-27-15
Google Analytics reports the same numbers today as yesterday: 40 non-empty sessions with an average session duration of 11:20 (11.33) minutes and a total minutes of page view of 453.20.
01-26-15
For the first time, the number of non-empty sessions has dropped; from 41 yesterday to 40 today.  The most likely explanation is that there were no new non-empty sessions today and that the data from 12-24-15 and 12-25-15 included a non-empty session which no longer counts because it is now beyond the 30-day span of consideration.  This newly dropped non-empty session was clearly very brief since dropping it raised the average session duration from 11:05 to 11:20.  However, the total minutes of page view fell from 454.28 yesterday to 40 x 11.33 = 453.20 today, confirming that the dropped session lasted for about a minute.

01-25-15
Google Analytics is reporting the same data today that it reported both yesterday and the day before yesterday.  Specifically:  41 non-empty sessions with an average session duration of 11:05 minutes resulting in a total of 41 x 11.08 = 454.28 minutes of page view for the period 12-25-14 to 01-24-15.  However, this is not necessarily an error.  Exclusion of the data from 12-23-15 and 12-24-15, which is beyond the 30-day span of consideration, would not have changed the totals if there were no non-empty sessions on those days.
01-24-15
Google Analytics is reporting the same data today that it reported yesterday, but this may be an error.  Although no session was reported for the past 24 hours, exclusion of the data from 12-23-15, which is beyond the 30-day span of consideration, should have changed the totals.

01-23-15
Google Analytics shows that the non-empty sessions rose from 40 yesterday to 41 today.  The average session duration was 11:05 minutes resulting in a total of 41 x 11.08 = 454.28 minutes of page view for the period 12-23-14 to 01-22-15.  This is a slight increase from the 446.14 minutes reported yesterday.
    Next I'll add the cumulative data up through 12-22-14 to the cumulative data for the period 12-23-14 to 01-22-15 to get the cumulative total.
    According to Google Analytics Log , the cumulative data up through 12-22-14 was:
BTS  - 9 Sessions; 07.56 Avg Duration.  9 x 7.56 = 68.04. This is a significant improvement from yesterday.
    So the cumulative sum is: 454.28 + 68.04 = 522.32 total minutes of page view since Google Analytics began to keep track on 12-17-14
    Since yesterday's total was 510.30 and today's is 522.32, the one visitor may have stayed for:  522.32 - 510.30 = 12.02 minutes.

01-22-15
Google Analytics shows that the non-empty sessions rose from 39 yesterday to 40 today.  The average session duration was 11:16 minutes resulting in a total of 40 x 11.25 = 450.00 minutes of page view for the period 12-22-14 to 01-21-15.  This is a slight increase from the 442.26 minutes reported yesterday.
    Next I'll add the cumulative data up through 12-21-14 to the cumulative data for the period 12-22-14 to 01-21-15 to get the cumulative total. Since  Google Analytics Log doesn't have an entry for 12-22-14, I'll use the data for the day before: 12-21-14:
    BTS - 9 Sessions; 07.56 Avg Duration
This multiplies out to 9 x 7.56 = 68.04 minutes of page view up through 12-21-14.  Adding this to the cumulative data for the period 12-22-14 to 01-21-15, reported today yields:  68.04 + 450.00 = 518.04 total minutes of page view since Google Analytics began to keep track on 12-17-14.

01-21-15
Google Analytics shows that the non-empty sessions rose from 38 yesterday to 39 today.  The average session duration was 11:34 minutes resulting in a total of 39 x 11.34 = 448.89 minutes of page view for the period 12-21-14 to 01-20-15.
    I think I made  a one-day error yesterday.  The data reported on 12-19-14 is cumulative only up through 12-18-14.  Since the cumulative data reported on 01-20-15 was for the span 12-20-14 through 01-19-15, I needed the cumulative data up through 12-19-14, not 12-18-14.  To avoid that same error today, I'm going to add the cumulative data up through 12-20-14 to the cumulative data for the period 12-21-14 to 01-20-15 to get the cumulative total.  Since the cumulative data reported on a particular date includes only the data up through the day before the day the data is reported, the cumulative data up through 12-20-14 will be the data reported on 12-21-14:       BTS  - 9 Sessions; 07.56 Avg Duration
This multiplies out to 9 x 7.56 = 68.04 minutes of page view up through 12-20-14.
    Adding this to the cumulative data for the period 12-21-14 to 01-20-15, reported today yields: 68.04 + 442.26 = 510.30 total minutes of page view since Google Analytics began to keep track on 12-17-14.
01-20-15
Google Analytics shows that the non-empty sessions rose from 37 yesterday to 38 today.  The average session duration was 11:52 minutes resulting in a total of 38 x 11.87 = 451.1 minutes of page view.  Once again, this is a drop in page-view time in spite of the additional visitor.  This may be due to the discounting of page-view time from before 12-20-14 since Google Analytics covers only one-month spans.  Google Analytics Log  shows:

12-19-14
    BTS  - 7 Sessions; 08.36 Avg Duration; 28.57% Bounce Rate
    CotA - 9 Sessions; 00.04 Avg Duration; 88.89% Bounce Rate
however, review of the entire  Google Analytics Log  makes it clear that only the BTS sessions are non-empty, so only they will be considered.  BTS multiplies out to:
    BTS = 7 x 8.36 = 58.52  minutes of page view.     Adding this to the total minutes of page view since 12-20-14 yields:
    58.52 + 451.1 = 509.6 minutes of page view, instead of 451.1, since Google Analytics began to keep track on 12-17-14.

01-19-15
Google Analytics shows that the non-empty sessions rose from 34 yesterday to 37 today.  The average session duration was 12:27 resulting in a total of 37 x 12.50 = 462.5 minutes of page view  This is considerably less than the 501.5 minutes reported yesterday, even though we had more visitors .  As I've already confessed, I don't really understand these numbers, but the overall trend seems to be positive.
01-18-15
Google Analytics summarizes data in month-long segments.  Since it first started summarizing Brain of the Tiger Salamander  data on 12-17-14, it has now reached the end of the first month.  This means that, as we go forward, data that is more than a month old will not be included in the summaries.
  The count of non-empty sessions has slipped from 35 yesterday to 34 today.  This indicates that the deletion of the single visitor on 12-17-14 from the summary was not balanced by a new non-empty session.  Dropping the first visit increased the average session duration to 14:46 which results in a total of 34 x 14.75 = 501.5 minutes of page view, which is a little more than yesterday even though we don't seem to have had any visitors .  As I've already confessed, I don't really understand these numbers.  However, the overall trend seems to be positive.
01-17-15
Today is also a gold star day for Google Analytics.  The count of non-empty sessions has jumped from 28 two days ago to 35.  That's huge.  The average session duration is 14:13 which means a total of 35 x 14.25 = 498.75 minutes of page view.  This is an increase of 38.71 minutes from two days ago or 33.00 minutes from three days ago.  I still don't entirely understand what the numbers mean, but they've clearly advanced significantly.

01-16-15
Google Analytics shows no change at all from yesterday.  Absolutely none!

01-15-15
My three apparently genuine readers combined to hold only a single non-empty session to bring that total up to 28.  There were again no new empty sessions from what was formerly the usual empty-session location, so that count remains at 34.  There was one new visitor who stayed for only 00:00 minutes, which brings the count of quick-look, single-visit visitors up to 17.  The overall total now stands at 28 + 34 + 17 = 79.
    The average session duration the 28 non-empty sessions was 16:43 which multiplies out as
28 x 16.43 = 460.04 minutes total non-empty engagement time as of today.  This is LESS than the 465.75 minutes total non-empty engagement time as of yesterday, which doesn't make sense.  It's clear that I'm still not interpreting the data correctly.

01-14-14
My three apparently genuine readers combined to hold four non-empty sessions to bring that total up to 27.  There was one new visitor who stayed for only 00:00 minutes, but no new empty sessions from the usual empty-session location, so the overall total now stands at 77.
    The average session duration the 27 non-empty sessions was 17:15 which multiplies out as
27 x 17.25 = 465.75 minutes total non-empty engagement time as of today.  This is an increase of approximately 144 minutes over the 322 minutes calculated as of yesterday.  This big jump may be due to the beginning of the new school session.  If I'm really lucky, a professor may have recommended this website to one or more of his students.

01-13-15
My three apparently genuine readers combined to hold five non-empty sessions to bring that total up to 23.  Since there were once again no empty sessions, the overall total became 72.
    It is especially note worthy that the average session duration for the non-empty sessions has increased from 6:28 for the 14 non-empty sessions on 01-11-15 to 14:05 for the 23 non-empty sessions today. That averages out to almost 77 minutes apiece in just two days.  Although very gratifying, I find it too good to be true.  We'll see how things look tomorrow.

01-12-15
My three apparently genuine readers combined to hold four non-empty sessions to bring that total up to 18.  Since, for the first time, there were no empty sessions, the overall total became 67.
01-11-15
I appear to have added another another genuine visitor for a total of 3, each of whom appear to have visited once in the last 24 hrs for an overall total of 14 extended visits with an average session duration of 6:28 for all 14.  There seems to have also been a single brief non-empty session.  There were also 2 additional empty sessions for a total of 34 for an overall total of 63 sessions, empty and non-empty.

01-10-15
No real change in site visits.  Empty visits were made to BTS and BwoF from the same empty-visit site.
01-09-15
At first I was delighted that Google Analytics was giving me results.  I'm still grateful for them, but I've become increasingly aware that I'm misinterpreting them.
    Here's what would have been the update of the data array I've been reporting:
For the period Dec 9, 2014 - Jan 8, 2015 Google Analytics shows :
    BTS  - 57 Sessions; 01:23 Avg Duration; 73.68% Bounce Rate
    CotA - 47 Sessions; 00:32 Avg Duration; 82.98% Bounce Rate
    SubC - 31 Sessions; 00.00 Avg Duration; 100.00% Bounce Rate
    BwoF -  3 Sessions; 00.00 Avg Duration; 100.00% Bounce Rate
    However, further examination of the data makes it look like the 57 reported BTS sessions include 32 empty responses from a single site, and this same site is responsible for all 47 CotA responses, all 31 SubC responses and all 3 BwoF responses, all of which are empty.
    Subtracting the 32 empty responses from the 57 reported BTS sessions still leaves 25 honest BTS sessions.  Of these 25, 14 visited only once, but 3 stayed for a minute or so.  The other 11 non-empty sessions are divided between two visitors each of whom have come back several times.  One stayed an average of 6 minutes each time, and the other stayed an average of 7.

Hooray!  Google Analytics records it's first visitor to  Brain of the Tiger Salamander , and that visitor stayed for 7min 20sec.  So they spent some time reading it.  This is very good news.
